W. Howard Sammons II, Esq. (“Howard”) is a one of a kind lawyer. Howard has a very extensive background in the environmental industry. A native of Mingo County, West Virginia. Mr. Sammons worked as a Quality Control Manager at Gilbert Coal Testing where he designed and implemented a quality control system along with many management responsibilities. After working at the coal lab Mr. Sammons received his Bachelor’s in Business Management from The University of Charleston, then  an MBA from Marshall University. Mr. Sammons has a passion for learning, business, and teaching. He was an adjunct professor for Southern Community College teaching coal and soil foundations. Mr. Sammons then continued his educational career by obtaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University. Mr. Sammons became a member of the WV State Bar in 2004. He worked at his father’s law firm, Sammons Law Office, PLLC in Gilbert, WV working on environmental permitting issues, specifically, 404 dredge and fill permits and Surface Mine Board appeals. In 2007, Mr. Sammons opened his own private law practice, Sammons Law Firm, PLLC in Gilbert, WV, shortly thereafter, Mr. Sammons moved to Charleston and currently runs his law practice in the heart of downtown on Capitol Street. Mr. Sammons also obtained a Master of Liberal Arts in Extension School Studies for Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University. In Mr. Sammons free time he enjoys driving his 1970 Chevelle, training in Jiu-jitsu, 4-wheeling, spending time with friends & family and watching his children play sports.

Renee’ Myers has been with Sammons Law Firm, PLLC for over 10 years. She is Mr. Sammons Paralegal/Office Manager. Ms. Myers works closely with our clients and she has worked on a variety of cases since she started working at Sammons Law Firm, PLLC. She grew up in South Charleston, WV and a graduate of South Charleston High School. She attended WV Jr. College where she earned an Associates in Legal Office Assisting. She completed two externships, prior to graduating from WV Jr. College, at two different local law firms and worked previous clerical positions. Ms. Myers is currently back in school taking online classes through Southern New Hampshire University to complete her Bachelors in Accounting. Ms. Myers enjoys traveling, shopping, cooking and spending time with her friends and family in her spare time.
